GRammar Boot Camp and 4th Grade

posted Jun 13, 2018, 7:26 PM by Nancy Draney

As you can see on Facebook, we completed Grammar Boot Camp.  It went down in the Memory Books as both something that will be missed and not missed.  It was worth it for the dog tag and camo cake.

We were also visited by 4th grade as they delivered letters and good advice on how to be successful next year. Everyone was able to take home a letter.

We were so blessed with a great class trip to the Native Lands. Thank you to all the parents who attended and especially to those who participated!  Everyone enjoyed learning a little bit about different cultures and of course getting to try our hands at shooting a bow and arrows.

Yes, we are in 21 day Grammar Boot Camp right now which when it ends will basically be the end of our school year.  We are making sure we are ready for 4th grade.  It is intense and, of course, fun!  There was a pretest and there will be a post test so we can see how far we have come and we are getting in shape too!

We experimented with a "Blubber Glove" this week to test out how blubber keeps whales warm in the Arctic waters that we read about this week in out story The Journey:  A Migration Story.  We concluded "blubber" does keep you warm.

**Also,  Boris' tank is clean and smelling lovely for anyone who was concerned thanks to a few students after school on Friday!

***Finally, everyone did a great job on their Book Reports!

We officially celebrated Valentine's Day ( thank you for the thoughtful cards and gifts), 100 Day, Mardi Gras and Pancake Day!  Pancakes were our favorite.  Now we are immersed in Lent after our liturgy and receiving ashes yesterday.  We are working each day to prepare ourselves for Easter by doing good deeds and/or making sacrifices.
