The new codes didn't go home today.  Students should have brought home their text books to reread and go over vocabulary.  We should have the codes for next week.

It was so fun to see so many of our families at Trunk or Treat! Tomorrow is finally Halloween.  Students are to come to school in costume.  We will be having our party in the afternoon.  That is when we will join Mrs. Lemaire's class for Pumpkin Chunkin!  Anyone who accepted the Stem Challenge should bring in their catapults tomorrow.  They will be launching small candycorn pumpkins.

All Saints Day Procession & "Pumpkin Chunkin"

The Saint Reports were well done!  We have been practicing our parts and preparing for Tuesday, November 7th.  The Procession will take place at 8:40 A.M.   There was a note home today to let everyone know that they should where their costumes to school that day and will stay in costume all day.

STEM Challenge

Our class watched an amazing story "Caine's Arcade" on Youtube yesterday.  In the spirit of STEM, our students have been challenge to create a catapult for launching candy pumpkins.  Instructions went home today and catapults, for anyone choosing to create one, should be brought to school on Halloween.  Students will compete against each other to see who can launch the pumpkin the furthest.  Parents are allowed to help.  Materials should be things found around the house with the exception of being able to buy paint, glue and tape.  Mrs. Lemaire and I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with!!

Thank you in advance!

Think Central and All Saints Day

The papers with the information for Think Central did go home in the folders.  As we saw on line in class, under district you should choose Catholic School.  Under library, the Journeys text book is accessible.  There are also short videos to watch on grammar and the Journeys workbook.

Just a reminder that everyone should be working on their costumes for the All Saints Day Procession.  Everyone has been working hard memorizing our lines and doing a great job.  Anyone with a reading part should keep practicing.  The reading part does not need to be memorized but it should be well read. Also, the words for the songs are in the folders for practice .  If you have any concerns regarding any aspect please email me.

This week we have been reading a "historical fiction" story called "Pop's Bridge" which is based on the actual event of the building of the Golden Gate Bridge.

In grammar, we are working on nouns; common and proper and nouns as subjects. We recently learned about sentences and combining sentences to make them compound sentences.
