Catholic Schools Week

Catholic Schools Week is Sunday, January 28th-Friday, February 2nd

We have a lot of fun activities going on to celebrate Catholic Schools Week.

Sunday- Mass at 12 noon, Open House from 1-4 p.m.
Monday-Student Appreciation Day
                   Crazy Hat & Crazy Socks Day
                   Quiz Show Assembly
                   Ice Cream at lunch
                   Musical Chairs
                   Science Experiment "Snow in a Jar"  (each student to bring in a jar with a lid 
                   by Friday 1/26/18)

Tuesday-    Prayer Service
                        Book Character Day (come to school dressed as your favorite book character and be prepared to describe your character as we visit other classes)
Wednesday-Blue & Gold Day(wear blue & gold to show school spirit).                                                           Schoolwide Hourly Raffle 
                           3rd Grade Spelling Bee              
                           Movie & Popcorn

Thursday    Making African Masks Assembly (3rd Grade)
                          Presenting Country Reports in class
                          Career Reporting * details in folder 1/23/18
                          3B Class Wow - Raffle

Friday             12:00 Dismissal
                         Teacher Appreciation Day
                          Pep Rally & Volleyball Game

* Week Long Penny War to collect for the Bergen County Animal Shelter- please send in some loose change for your student to participate.

Character Day

A notice went home today regarding Character Day.  It is a 3rd grade tradition for students to dress as their favorite book character during Catholic Schools Week.  Students will have fun as we visit the other classrooms dressed as characters.  The students will also be completing an "instagram" post about their character. The details for that will be sent home tomorrow and it is due next Wednesday, January 24th.

A letter went home today with details for Wednesday.  Students should bring lunch to school as we will be late getting back and unable to eat lunch in the cafeteria.  Class parents are asked to stay to supervise the classes in their own classrooms for lunch.  All students should be in regular school uniform.

Burrrr!  Just when we were starting off our new year in came this weather!!  We should really be ready to be back on Monday.  Of course, we will still be dressing warm!


 The class will be attending Once Upon a Crime on Wednesday, January 10th.  We will eat lunch when we return from the trip around 12:00 pm.

Friday, January 12th is a half day.

Thank you all for your pictures, sentiments and generous gifts. Sammy, our elf, is happily on his way back to the North Pole and we are all ready to spend this time with our families and enjoy the magic of Christmas.

This Week

Please note that a letter and permission slip was sent home via backpack for a field trip to IHA to see the performance "Once Upon a Crime:  The Trial of Goldilocks.  The trip is on January 10th.  For anyone who hasn't already done so, permission slips along with $5 are due tomorrow, Monday, Dec. 18th.

 Friday, December 22nd  is a half day and there is no Aftercare.  
There is an Advent Prayer Service is at 9 AM.  We will also be having our class Christmas party that day.  Students are encouraged to bring in Christmas cards for their classmates which will be distributed during our party.

Supplies & Prodigy

After asking students what would be on their teacher's Christmas list today and getting an overwhelming response of glue sticks and pencils it was obvious we needed to reach out.  Please send in glue sticks (preferably large but will be happy with any size)  and pencils as soon as possible.

Also, please check the STEM/Technology homework section for Prodigy assignments.

Conferences and 12:00 Dismissals
